The Lyonel Feininger Project LLC

The Lyonel Feininger Project LLC, overseen by Achim Moeller, is pleased to announce that Volume I (1907-1918) of The Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings by Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956) is in progress.

Longtime expert in the work of Lyonel Feininger, Achim Moeller recently edited Years of Friendship, 1944-1956: The Correspondence of Lyonel Feininger and Mark Tobey (Hatje Cantz, 2006) as well as several catalogues of the artist's work. He has for many years collaborated closely with museums, collectors, and auction houses worldwide in providing provenance research, insurance appraisals, and art-historical expertise in the artist's work.

As part of the catalogue raisonné project, Achim Moeller will provide his written opinion on the authenticity of works attributed to the artist. A work judged to be authentic will be assigned a numbered certificate of authenticity and will be included in the archive.
Achim Moeller will continue to serve in an advisory capacity for exhibitions and publications concerning Lyonel Feininger.

The Mark Tobey Project LLC

Achim Moeller is pleased to announce the establishment of The Mark Tobey Project LLC, whose primary aim is to promote the legacy of the American artist Mark Tobey (1890-1976) through research initiatives, authentications, and collaborations with institutions worldwide on exhibitions and publications. In each of these endeavors, the project is committed to fostering a greater understanding of the artist's life and work.
Longtime expert in the work of Mark Tobey, Achim Moeller recently edited Years of Friendship, 1944-1956: The Correspondence of Lyonel Feininger and Mark Tobey (Hatje Cantz, 2006). The Mark Tobey Project LLC will also draw on the extensive archives of Paul Cummings, longtime scholar of the artist's work, which have been actively maintained by Achim Moeller for many years. Using this comprehensive and as yet unpublished source, the ultimate objective of the Project will be to compile a catalogue raisonné.
Equally important to this endeavor is the authentication of works by Mark Tobey. Supported by a committee of international scholars, Achim Moeller will provide his written opinion on works attributed to the artist. A work judged to be authentic will be assigned a numbered certificate of authenticity and will be included in the archive.
